1808 Aug. 6. John Sr.had died.Office of Ordinary, Book E Pg. 48 Greene Co Ga. Returns and
Appraisements. John McMichael deceased, Mary McMichael and William McMichael applied for
letters of admin.
A Minor when his Father died. His Mother was appointed guardian.
Greene Co. Ga. 163-109 Jms. McMichaell was qualified as Constable in Capt. Mettins district and gave
bond security as the law states.

line thence south 65 chanins on a red oak, thence North 25 E 24 chaines to a maple thence N 30 W. 47 Chains
to a bank on the creek to the beginning

This land belonged to John McMichael Sr. Ga. 163-109 Jms. McMichaell was qualified as Constable in Capt.
Mettins district and gave bond security as the law states. (See above)
1812-Jun 25-Recorded- James sold land purchased from Ambrose Ransom in Putnam- He was of Randolph Co.
(Which changed names to Jasper shortly after) Apr. 10 1812-to James Rivers of Putnam Co. for $1, 025 200
1/2 acres 14th Dist. Baldwin Co. now Putnam. In presence of Joseph Reid, John Piper, Irby Hudson JP
1812-13-Jasper was created--- cut from Baldwin No move-just change of name.

levied on as property of Margaret alias Peggy McMichal adm. of James
McMichal dec'd to satisfy two executions in favor or John Piper

1854 Apr. 17 Greene Co. Will Book G Pg 167 Will of Margaret Armor
My will is that Elizabeth Peek, now married, and Adeline Peek, daughters of
my deceased daughter, Adeline Peek the wife of John C. Peek, to have
$800.00 out of my estate. My son, Seaborn McMichael, shall have $700.00 of
my estate independent of his portion of said estate. ALl my effects at my
death to be divided in four shares between Seaborn McMichael, John
McMichael, Reuben McMichael and Elizabeth Williams. The portion coming to
Elizabeth Williams to be held by my son John McMichael in trust during her
life and at her death to go to her children. Witnessed by S.C. Hold, J.L.
Mathews and G.A. Hall.

David Winchester:
Anyone out there know about David Winchester, born about 1770-80, probably in NC, was in Jasper Co GA in 1827, may have been there as early as 1818. Probably father of Jesse, Jonathan, James N., Rosannah, Jubal C., Jonus... Was in Troup County in 1830, Heard County in 1840... died? by 1850, but Zella Winchester, age 80 of NC is living in Heard with Jonathan, James N. and Rosannah Richardson... I believe I am descended from Jesse... Help? Kelly Nix 1999 note
We have a common ancester, John Winchester, Sr b abt 1728, d 1809 who settled along Haw River abt 1768 just in today's Rockingham County and took NC Land Grant in 1779. Had son David B. Winchester 1770-1847 who died in Heard County, GA, md Zila Reeve 12/5/1795 in Guilford Co, daughter of Malachi and Fortune Burton Reeves. Their son Jonathan Winchester, b 12/23/1797 in Rockingham Co, NC, d 12/15/1873 in Franklin, AL md Sarah Brazil. Siblings were Jesse Reeves Winchester, buried in Mount Pleasant, Heard Co, GA; Tubal C. Winchester, James W. Winchester and Mary Winchester; and two unknowns. My line goes to John Winchester, Jr., brother of David B.
